Viral Sentinel

An isolated monitor for persistence, boundary laundering, capability expansion, and unsafe state diffusion.

ARCHITECTUREActivation-level monitoring

The Problem

Viral RSI (Recursive Self-Improvement) activations can persist across sessions, launder boundaries, expand capabilities unboundedly, invert valence (frame expansion as safety), fail self-certification, and diffuse unsafe state across models and sessions. These are activation-level threats that require dedicated detection.

The Approach

Viral Sentinel runs on a completely separate provider from all other Canon nodes with one-way output only (cannot be queried or influenced). It hunts for: objective persistence and replication attempts, boundary laundering patterns, unbounded capability/tool expansion, valence inversion, self-certification failure, and cross-session or cross-model state diffusion. Any flag triggers automatic 'DEGRADED — HUMAN REVIEW REQUIRED' status with veto-level weight on session integrity score.

What Exists Today

  • ✓Architecture specification complete
  • ✓Isolation properties defined (separate provider, one-way output)
  • ✓Detection criteria specified (6 threat classes)
  • ✓Veto-level integration with Security Sentinel defined

//What It Does Not Prove

What this project does not prove.

  • ✗Architecture / proposed monitoring role only
  • ✗No implementation yet
  • ✗Separate provider infrastructure not built
  • ✗No live detection demonstrated

Evidence

Isolated detection role for 6 viral RSI threat classes (objective persistence, boundary laundering, unbounded capability expansion, valence inversion, self-certification failure, cross-session/model state diffusion) with veto-level influence
